Hi! I'm Alyse.
Speech-language pathologist, mom of three, and your child's biggest cheerleader.
For 12 years, I've had the joy of helping children find their words, and I still love it just as much today as I did on day one. I'm a speech-language pathologist (M.A., CCC-SLP), ASHA certified, and licensed and credentialed in California, but the simplest way to explain why I do this is that I love kids. I find so much joy in helping them build the skills that open up their world, and I get to do it through play, laughter, and real connection. There's nothing quite like watching a child light up when they finally say something they've been working so hard to communicate.
I started Small Talk because I wanted the time and freedom to do this work the way I believe it should be done. Thoughtfully. Individually. Without rushing. By keeping my private practice small, I can pour real attention into every child and family I work with, and that's the same kind of care I'd want for my own kids.

"I bring enthusiasm, dedication, and a whole lot of heart to every child I work with."
-Alyse
My approach is child-centered and relationship-based, which is a warmer way of saying I meet your child exactly where they are. I follow their interests, build trust first, and weave evidence-based strategies into activities that actually feel fun. When therapy feels like play, kids stay motivated, and motivated kids make real progress.
More than anything, I want you to know how invested I am. I bring enthusiasm, dedication, and a whole lot of heart to every child I work with, because your child deserves nothing less. When I'm not in session, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband and three boys, volunteering with our school's Parent Teacher Club, cheering from the sidelines of youth sports, or planning our next family adventure!"
